We’re currently seeking Kitchen Hand to join our kitchen team.
This is a hands on role as an integral support to our kitchen and front of house teams.
THE ROLE
As a KP at Pier Port Melbourne, you will be responsible for running your own dish area while supporting the wider kitchen and front of house team's to deliver smooth, efficient service across the day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Keeping the dishwashing area clean, tidy and organised at all time
Assisting chefs with basic food prep when required (veggie prep, picking herbs, washing mussels etc.)
Taking out rubbish, recycling and cardboard throughout service
Maintaining cleanliness of floors, benches, cool rooms and shared kitchen spaces
Re-stocking clean equipment, plates and utensils to service stations
Following food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures at all times
Supporting the kitchen during busy service periods with speed and reliability
ABOUT YOU
You will ideally:
- Have solid experience running a dish pit in a high-volume kitchen
- Work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Be reliable, organised, and detail-focused
- Take pride in your work
- Communicate well and contribute positively to team culture
