A busy restaurant in city is seeking a full time / part time chef
No nights time,
No split shifts
Suitable for recently qualified to 3 years experienced chef, who is eager to work, neat and tidy
Mainstream, high volume restaurant
Duties include:
- Mise en place
- Preparation for the section
- Pan work
- Service: lunch and dinner (including setting-up and packing down after service)
- Plating up dishes for the pass
- Serving and garnishing dishes
- Working and communicating with other members of the kitchen staff including the Head chef and front of house
- Cleaning duties (washing down benches, cleaning of both the fryer and the oven, sweeping, scrubbing with chemical, mopping and washing dishes includes the use of caustic cleaning agents)
- Cutting and slicing various food items
- Keeping everything well prepared for the larder section including making a prep list and rotating stock, disposing of any food no longer safe for consumption
- Experiences in grill and cutting fish is a plus.
